In the beginning, you’ll need to take your 2x4s and cut them to 72 inches in order to make the seats. After that, cut five pieces measuring 21 inches to make the cross-pieces. Arm rests are made up of two 24-inch pieces. Next, cut one plank with a width of 75 inches and another in 79 inches for backboards. The legs of the bench should be at least 22 1/2 inches in length.

After you’ve cut your pieces of wood, you’ll need to put together the seat frame. Once you have it assembled, connect the arm rests and legs. Attach the back boards. Lastly, you can apply stain and paint to your new outdoor couch.
